A victim speaks out

Attacked on a busy street, robbed, and left for dead.  That’s what happened to this person, and who knows how many others, in a wave of anti-gay violence in DC.

Now the victim is speaking out, courtesy of Amanda Hess at tbd.com, and we want to share it with you.

And the police responded how?

We wrote about this crime spree last week, and made a list of resources for DC residents to act on this terrible trend.   One that we here are directly involved in is OutWatch:

OutWatch is putting on free self defense classes in Dupont Circle every sunday.   Come learn basic skills and how you can get involved.

This is why our community needs to take the lead.  The police are over-extended and can not be relied on to fully support the victims of these crimes. We can.
